This offering from the McLean County Bar Association’s Underwood Committee on Professionalism is anticipated to provide three hours of professionalism/ethics CLE on a variety of subjects. The first hour session is entitled We Can Be Civil and Effective. Hon. Paul Lawrence will present on this topic, drawing on materials from the Illinois Supreme Court Commission on Professionalism, and adding the perspective of the local bar and courtroom. The second hour long session is an interactive legal writing exercise/program entitled Legal Writing for Today’s Legal Practice. University of Illinois Law Professor Rammana Alam will lead us through a legal writing update from basics to more advanced. In the final one-hour session, First Assistant McLean County State’s Attorney Adam Ghrist will present on recent developments in the law on post-conviction proceedings, and suggestions for file documentation.
