court news
I am pleased to report that all Courtrooms and dockets are operational in some fashion (either remote, in-person or hybrid) and are handling all types of cases. We are confident that if we had to scale back operations again that we are in a good position to make those changes with little disruption to the dockets. That is a testament to the tremendous efforts of all the Judges, staff and attorneys in finding creative and innovative ways to keep Courtrooms operational during this pandemic. We remain hopeful that the pandemic will end as soon as possible like everyone else. Should you have any questions or concerns on court operations, please contact the Trial Court Administrator, William Scanlon at (309)888-5266. With regards, Chief Judge Mark A. Fellheimer Please join Team MCBA in supporting this year’s St. Jude’s walk/run to cure childhood cancer. This year the event has gone virtual, and teams and runners are invited to participate in whatever manner they feel comfortable. That could include partaking virtually by themselves, running or walking in a group, or just donating. Multiples routes will be provided for all levels of participation. Some of these routes will end along Keg Grove if any bar members would like to meet and enjoy a beer together after their run or walk.
Visit the link below to sign up to walk or run with our group (or stroll in the comfort of your own neighborhood) and please make your tax deductible donation today! LAP's team brings the legal community essential skills needed to propel forward as we navigate COVID19. Break out of your grind and join a virtual experience through live presentations from the legal industry's most informed clinical experts - and 3 MH/PR CLE credits. CPR can save a life - stress, stigma and challenges can quickly take over. Give yourself the opportunity to educate and support a stronger, more effective way to practice law. TUESDAY - october 20

Remember to have “Breakfast with the Bar” every Friday morning between 8:00 am and 9:00 am. It’s a great way to meet and talk with your fellow attorneys in an informal setting. Stay for 10 minutes and have a cup of coffee or stay for an hour and have a full breakfast before court. Grab an associate, partner or friend and come. See you Friday!
