court news

August 25th, 2020

To:  The McLean County Bar Association

I know this is getting to sound like a broken record, but the Courts remain in a “holding pattern” for the time-being. We continue to monitor the daily information from the health community and continue to work with the Circuit Clerk and Sheriff to safely operate the Law and Justice Center for all those that enter.
Picture
I am pleased to report that all Courtrooms and dockets are operational in some fashion (either remote, in-person or hybrid) and are handling all types of cases. We are confident that if we had to scale back operations again that we are in a good position to make those changes with little disruption to the dockets. That is a testament to the tremendous efforts of all the Judges, staff and attorneys in finding creative and innovative ways to keep Courtrooms operational during this pandemic.

We remain hopeful that the pandemic will end as soon as possible like everyone else.

Should you have any questions or concerns on court operations, please contact the Trial Court Administrator, William Scanlon at (309)888-5266.

With regards,
Chief Judge Mark A. Fellheimer

For more information on St. Jude - click on the logo above.
Please join Team MCBA in supporting this year’s St. Jude’s walk/run to cure childhood cancer. This year the event has gone virtual, and teams and runners are invited to participate in whatever manner they feel comfortable. That could include partaking virtually by themselves, running or walking in a group, or just donating. Multiples routes will be provided for all levels of participation. Some of these routes will end along Keg Grove if any bar members would like to meet and enjoy a beer together after their run or walk.

Visit the link below to sign up to walk or run with our group (or stroll in the comfort of your own neighborhood) and please make your tax deductible donation today!
