MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

Please make note of the upcoming events as we ease into the middle of the hot summer months. We have our first Board of Governors meeting with new members next Tuesday, July 9th. We also have two CLE opportunities the following week with next CLE luncheon to be held on July 16th and a Family Law Professional Responsibility - Mental Health CLE on July 19th. Both events are open to all members. The registrations for these two events are now open. Please register below.
 
As a reminder, the courthouse will be closed for Independence Day this Thursday, July 4th. It will be open on Friday, July 5th, however. Wishing you and your families a Happy and safe July 4th.

The Illinois Supreme Court Commission on Access to Justice announces two newly approved Circuit Court form suites:

  1. Fee Waiver for Civil Cases
  2. Fee/Assessments Waiver for Criminal Cases
 
The new forms comport with the requirements of the amended Civil Fee Waiver statute, 735 ILCS 5/5-105, and the new Criminal and Traffic Assessments Act, 705 ILCS 135/10-5 .  Both new form suites can be used on July 1, 2019.  To find all approved forms, please visit the Supreme Court’s website here.

for Prairie State Legal Services
at Bruegala

Prairie State Legal Services is a 2019 Bruegala Charity partner. Bruegala will take place on August 16-17. Please volunteer to help Prairie State Legal Services to set up or serve beverages to the Bruegala attendees. Each volunteer sign-up slot is around 2-3 hours. As a volunteer, you will receive free admission and a tasting glass for the night you volunteer. Bruegala is a charity beer and wine festival run by the Bloomington-Normal Jaycees. The 20th annual Bruegala will be held on Friday, August 16th and Saturday, August 17th at the Corn Crib. Bruegala offers over 100 craft beer samples, more than 50 wines, a variety of food vendors, music and more throughout the two-day event. In the past 5 years, more than 20,000 people have attended Bruegala and the event has raised over $220,000 for local organizations. The money raised at this event directly impacts the residents of Bloomington-Normal and surrounding McLean County!
