RE: Change to Adult Protective Services Provider for McLean and Livingston Counties
We are pleased to welcome CHELP as the Adult Protective Services (APS) provider for McLean and Livingston counties, effective immediately. CHELP has served as the designated APS provider for DeWitt and Macon Counties since April 1, 1991.
Reports of suspected Abuse, Neglect, and Exploitation of older adults and adults with disabilities should be directed to CHELP at 1-217-422-9888 or 1-888-243-5701
CHELP will absorb all open APS cases. If you were coordinating with a case worker from PATH regarding an APS client, please direct all future communication to CHELP. Learn the purposes and differences of the four most common personal protective orders, including Orders of Protection (OPs), Stalking No Contact Orders (SNCOs), Civil No Contact Orders (CNCOs), and Criminal Protective Orders (CPOs); who can be protected by the orders; the procedures for the filing and hearing of Petitions for these orders, including how emergency orders (EOPs, ESNCOs, and ECNCOs) are handled; the protective-order remedies available to victims of abuse/stalking/assault; plus some advanced practice tips that should help both the “newbie” and the “old pro” attorneys alike.
