MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

It is truly an honor and privilege to be named to serve as your Bar President, the same position held by my father decades ago. I am looking forward to all of the educational and fun and exciting Bar events and activities for the remainder of this year and as we head into 2020. During its long history, the MCBA has been blessed with many skilled attorneys, iconic individuals, wonderful personalities and characters.  And, it is my strong desire to keep our Bar as strong and its members as close to one another as it has been for years. The motto is "get to know our/your Bar" given the number of attorney and judge retirements, relocations, passings, etc. To our current members, senior and young lawyers and judges, please encourage others to join or re-join our Bar, continue to attend our monthly luncheons and the fun evening events and/or join one or more of our many committees.

The attendance at the funeral for our friend and colleague, Ralph Turner was amazing and the services were wonderful and very moving to say the least. The passing of Ralph Turner, Steve Williams, Melissa McGrath, Richard T. Dunn, Joseph Ambrose and Deborah Moore leave a major void in our Bar. Please continue to keep them and their families in your thoughts and prayers.

I wanted to welcome John Pratt to the Board of Governors and Rachel Brandt, as Secretary and Nathan Ihnes, as Treasurer, and very pleased that Julia Davis will serve as our Second Vice President. Many thanks for the years of service to the Bar by Gina Wood and Laurel Bingaman and we are sorry to see you depart. Thank you to Kyle Korkus for this past year. And, I wanted to thank Judge Paul Lawrence for a wonderful job this past year as our President. I am thankful that you will have my back this year with your leadership and experience.

            Have a wonderful week.
            Joe Foley
