2023 CENTRAL ILLINOIS HIGH SCHOOL MOCK TRIALS REGIONAL INVITATIONAL
The 2023 MCBA Regional Mock Trial is sponsored by the MCBA Mock Trial Committee and in cooperation with the ISBA Committee on Law Related Education for the Public & the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Trial Courts. This school year's tournament will be held on Monday, February 13, 2023. Rounds begin at 9:30 a.m., 11:15 a.m., and 2:00 p.m. Please check in at the scorers' table 15 minutes before your round begins. The Mock Trial tournament will be held in 3rd, 4th and 5th floor courtrooms of the Law & Justice Center located at 104 W. Front Street, Bloomington, Illinois.

McLean County Law & Justice Center (LJC) 104 W. Front St., Bloomington, IL 61701 8:00-9:00 a.m. - Check-In (Lobby Area) 9.15-9.25 a.m. - Team Captains Meeting (5th Floor) 9:30-10:45 a.m. - First round 11:15 a.m.-12:30 p.m. - Second round 12:30-1:45 p.m. - Lunch Break/Scoring 1:45 p.m. - Announcement of Final 6 Teams (5th Floor) 2:00-3:15 p.m. - Third Round (Final 6) 3:45 p.m. - Final Announcements/Scores/Awards (5th Floor) 4:00 p.m. - Exit Building |
logistics & other details
TEAM STAGING AREA: Each team will be assigned a conference room or set of meeting rooms for their students. The courtrooms will be on the 3rd, 4th and 5th floors of the LJC .
CELL PHONES & LAP TOPS: Cell phones and Lap tops are allowed into the building again this year.
FOOD: Food is allowed in the team assigned room(s).
FINAL AFTERNOON ROUND: All teams are welcome to stay for the final afternoon round and awards even if not involved in the final competition.
PARKING FOR VEHICLES: The Lincoln Parking Deck is located directly east of the LJC. This is a pay lot which can take either cash or a debit/credit card. The card option is easiest.
PARKING FOR BUSES: The Lincoln Parking Deck will not fit a typical school bus due to the low overhang. Bus Parking passes and locations have been emailed. One block west of the LJC is the U.S. Cellular Coliseum / Pepsi Ice Center. Any buses should be able to stage in the open street areas near the Coliseum. South and west of the U.S. Cellular Coliseum is another parking deck if needed. Please see the map that was sent in the email. It is imparative that your bus be parked in the designated space and the 2023 Parking placard be placed in the bus window so that you do not get ticketed or towed. Be sure to print the placard and review the map in the buttons below.
