MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENTGreetings, I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and was able to enjoy some of this beautiful weather (while it lasts)! This week, we have our social event at The Proving Ground Bouldering Gym this Saturday, February 8th from 5-9 pm. Please know that everyone is welcome and we just need your registration below in order to prove food for everyone. And, we are still in need of assistance for the High School Mock Trials set for next Wednesday, February 12th. Due to the number of teams participating in this year's competition, we are calling upon your help as this event is certainly not possible without your dedicated assistance. PLEASE REGISTER NOW in the link below. Once again, volunteers will be provided breakfast and lunch and an opportunity for 1 hour CLE-Professional Responsibility for Mental Health & Substance Abuse. Looking ahead, more details will come for all of these great upcoming events, but mark your calendars now !! Our next Bar luncheon is Tuesday, February 18th on a very important topic - - Veterans Court/Services for our Veterans. I also wanted to give you a sneak peek at our upcoming Social agenda. On Wednesday, February 19th, please join us in forming a team or two for trivia at the newly opened JP’s Wheel and Ale House (site of the old Hooters) on Hershey Road in Bloomington. Trivia will start at 7:00 and expect it to run to 9:00 p.m. Please plan to arrive around 6:30 so we can reserve tables. There is no cost to participate, and no need to stay for the entire event if you can only drop in for a short time. For St. Patty's Day (but not on the day due to the election), we are set for a celebration at Reality on Monroe on Thursday, March 19th, at 5:30 pm where guests can enjoy Irish themed appetizers and beer pairings. Wear green and be ready to relax. Then, on Friday, April 24th, there will be transportation to/from Mackinaw Winery for wine tasting and we are working on eats as well. And, on Friday, May 8th, we will be hosting our annual Law Day celebration with a twist. It will be an evening gala for significant others to attend at BCC. The theme is a wonderful one, 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment, "The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied . . .on account of sex." And, if you have not done so, please renew your Bar membership today. Have a great week! Joe Foley attorneys on the move
