COURT NOTES

February 14, 2022

To:  The McLean County Bar Association:

I hope this note finds you well and that you share in the hope that Spring is around the corner. It sure is nice to see the sun come up a little earlier day by day. As they say, “hope springs eternal”, so with Spring’s arrival in about 30 days, I remain optimistic that the Pandemic will be more behind us than in front of us.

I continue to be amazed that Court Operations are running smooth and that no docket is reporting any significant delays in getting cases to trial or resolution. We
Picture
continue to study the most effective and efficient ways to handle the dockets that has recently included a re-alignment of Traffic Court and Driving Under the Influence cases. We are working through the changeover and making adjustments as needed. If you represent someone on a traffic citation, please check your courtroom location upon entering the Courthouse as we have a rotating schedule.

We await word from the Illinois Supreme Court on the relaxing of Covid mandates within the Courthouse and will advise as soon as we hear something.

As always, should you have any questions or concerns on court operations, please contact Trial Court Administrator William Scanlon at (309) 888-5266.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Best regards.
 Chief Judge Mark A. Fellheimer

Mitchell Hedrick

Mitch is a seasoned trial attorney with a decade's experience in complex civil litigation in the areas of catastrophic personal injury defense for the trucking and insurance industries, workers' compensation defense, employment practices defense, and business litigation. He frequently appears in state and federal courts, administrative agencies, and arbitration panels to defend his clients' rights. Mitch handles all aspects of litigation, ranging from pre-suit investigations to representing clients at trial- where he has successfully tried many cases to verdict.

Picture
Prior to joining the legal profession, Mitch spent eight years gaining invaluable experience in the transportation, manufacturing, and construction industries. He worked in facilities and job sites throughout the Midwest and Mid-South. He still holds a Class A commercial driver's license. While in law school, Mitch completed the rigorous J.D. In Two Years Program at the University of Dayton School of Law, where he graduated With Honors in only two calendar years. Mitch served as a law clerk for the Honorable Mary L. Wiseman, Montgomery County, Ohio Court of Common Pleas. His business experience, education, and legal acumen guide his representation of clients. This is precisely why Mitch has been recognized by his peers as a "Emerging Lawyer" in Illinois since 2018 in the areas of Transportation Defense Law, Personal Injury Defense, and Employment Law: Management.

Mitch joined Imeri Rogers in 2022. He previously worked for a large full-service law firm in Illinois, focusing his practice on trucking and personal injury defense, employment law defense, and commercial litigation. Mitch is licensed to practice in all state and federal courts in Illinois. He has authored 13 nationally published legal articles and speaks often at legal and professional events. He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, the Peoria County Bar Association, the Illinois Association of Defense Counsel, and the Defense Research Institute. Mitch is also a husband, father of two, and an active member of his local community.
