MCBA Lawyer-to-Lawyer Mentoring Program Announcement

Developing strong relationships between new and experienced attorneys in our community is so important to the MCBA. Please consider becoming involved in the Lawyer-to-Lawyer Mentoring Program (sponsored by the MCBA), which is a program created by the Illinois Supreme Court Commission on Professionalism.

We welcome applications from mentors or mentees throughout the year. A mentor must be licensed for more than five years and act as a resource to the mentee. The mentee must be licensed for four years or less. By completing eight mentoring sessions, both mentor and mentee will qualify for six hours of professionalism credit (which can be rolled over to future years). We are looking for new lawyers who would like to be connected with mentors, and experienced lawyers who are willing to serve as mentors.

Please contact one of the mentoring program coordinators:
Jaime Ganschow at jganschow@ganschowlaw.com or Angela Skinner at angela@ams.law,
or visit the following site to fill out an online application at this
LINK.

Dear McLean County Bar Association,

The residents here at McLean County Nursing Home have been such troopers since the Covid began. The residents miss their families, but are able to communicate via facetime. It may not be the same as being in person, but everyone understands that we will continue to keep our residents safe.

When able, the residents have been attending small group activities (group of 10 or less) such as bingo, crafts, music, trivia, and manicures. The residents receive 1:1 visits and house calls throughout the week. Since we can not have the beautician come in to the facility Sharon, and I have been doing shampoo/sets and haircuts. I did a photo shoot for Halloween with the residents and they really enjoyed themselves. Each resident received a photo and their family received a photo of their loved one as well. It meant a lot to the families to receive a photo of their loved one!!

The residents have been receiving mail, letters and cards from all over the community!! We have been getting ready for the Holidays with Christmas trees and decorations throughout the building. The residents are excited to have a special visit by Santa and Mrs. Claus as well as the gifts for our residents here at McLean County Nursing Home!!  The staff continue to follow the guidelines from IDPH and the CDC.

Sincerely,
Lidia Navarra, Activities Director and Staff

**Reminder: Please have the gifts completed and dropped off before Thursday, December 3 at 4:00 pm. Click on the Elf for more information.
