MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENTI hope that everyone had a nice weekend and enjoyed the beautiful weather on Sunday as I am not certain it will last, unfortunately. Last week, we had a strong and informative program at the MCBA luncheon on the Opioid epidemic. Thank you to all of those who attended and a big thank you to our speakers, Kathy Yoder, Judge Costigan, Sheriff Sandage and Don Knapp. In the spirit of "giving", please consider helping Prairie State on #GivingTuesday, which is next Tuesday, December 3. On that date, there will be several matching challenges. Please see below for more details. And, another opportunity to give is the 17th annual Stuff the Bus event, which begins next week, December 2nd through December 7th. This six-day event will help restock the Children’s Home & Aid and Crisis Nursery’s pantry with much needed supplies to benefit at-risk children and families right here in our Bloomington-Normal community. Our Social Committee continues to work hard to bring us fun and exciting events. I hope you take advantage of these upcoming opportunities. The sign up for our Christmas luncheon on December 17 begins today (see below). With Justice Knecht deciding to "retire" as speaker from our holiday luncheon, we are looking to provide the floor to our members for a version of "Holiday blessing, fun or disasters." This will be similar in format to our War Stories luncheon last May, we are looking for members to share a wonderful holiday experience and/or funny holiday disaster, whether in the field of law or personal. Stay tuned for more details. And, we will be caroling that same week at the McLean County Nursing Home on Friday, December 20. Resident recipients are still available for our Project Santa 2019. Please sign up below. On that same Friday, we welcome all of our members and significant others for food, fun and spirits at Medici's, beginning at 3:30 pm. Looking forward to closing out 2019 with all of you ! Hope you and your families have a blessed and safe Thanksgiving. Have a great week ! Joe Foley Thursday - December 19, 2019 The McLean County Circuit Clerk’s Office - Holiday Luncheon Closed from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. reminder family law |
