BOND REFORM NUTS & BOLTS
ILLINOIS’ SAFETY, ACCOUNTABILITY, FAIRNESS AND EQUITY-TODAY (“SAFE-T”) ACT

original recording date - WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 2, 2022
[1 HOUR GENERAL CLE CREDIT APPROVED]

updated recording date - Monday, december 19, 2022
[additional 30 minutes GENERAL CLE CREDIT APPROVED]

Please join the McLean County Bar Association in welcoming Attorney Brendan Bukalski. Bond reform, commonly known as the “Pre-Trial Fairness Act” or the “Safe T Act,” will take effect in 2023. The Act completely overhauls our system from arrest to pre-trial procedure. Its impact will be felt by everyone involved in our criminal courts: those accused, police, clerks, jails, prosecutors and defense attorneys. Understandably, there are lots of questions about it. This CLE will help answer many questions about the Act, and will inform attendees of its content, implementation, and discuss possible issues and/or concerns.

Due to amendments passed by the legislature after our 1-hour CLE discussing Illinois bond reform, we are happy to announce that an additional 30 minutes of CLE discussing the amendments is available for free for anyone who purchased or will purchase the CLE! Combined, this CLE covers everything, and is entirely up-to-date on the changes coming January 1st!

1.5 hours of CLE is available to view via video. Those who previously paid to attend or watch the 1-hour CLE will be able to view the CLE covering the statutory amendments at no additional charge. Those purchasing the CLE will not pay an additional charge for the 1/2-hour CLE covering the statutory changes. The CLE covering changes to the Act is being provided to our members free of charge in order to keep our members fully current on the new laws affecting our practice.
