'intellectual property (IP) for the non-ip attorney'

The Underwood Committee cordially invites you to the October 16, luncheon focusing on Intellectual Property law. The McLean County Bar Association in conjunction with the McLean County Arts Center are hosting Ms. Marci Walker Legal Director, Lawyers for the Creative Arts, Chicago, Illinois. Ms. Walker will be presenting an overview of trademark and copyright laws. There will be a focus on the Intellectual Property for both the attorney and the owner artist. Key issues which will be addressed are listed below.

* Understanding Work-Made-for-Hire
* Contracts with Third Parties
* Licensing/Clearing Content
* How to Safely Use Third Party Images
* Warranties of Originality
* Ownership Issues between Collaborators
* IP Registration Costs
* Social Media Considerations
* Data Privacy

This will be a 90 minute CLE luncheon which will include the traditional 60 minutes CLE luncheon and another 30 minutes for those interested in basic business entity law.

Seating is limited for this event. Once the limit is reached, we will continue registration onto a wait list.

Walk-ins to this event are discouraged as seating is very limited.

Registration and Location

This Tuesday, October 16 program will be held at The McLean County Arts Center located at 601 N. East Street in Bloomington. The luncheon cost is $20 per Bar Member ($25 for non-members) if paid on or before October 8, 2018, after October 8,, 2018 registration cost is $25 ($30 for non-members). All registered participants will receive emailed materials by the Monday before the luncheon. ​
 
Please note "walk-in" registrants are discouraged from attending this limited seating event.
