MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENTGreetings everyone, I hope you are all bundling up and staying warm. I know some of you enjoyed a long weekend in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. ! One of his many great quotes is, "Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?' " Thank you to all who bundled up to join us yesterday for our annual State of the Circuit review for our monthly luncheon. We had a full house! Please note that due to a conflict with the Annual McLean County Chamber of Commerce gala, the social event at The Proving Ground Bouldering Gym is rescheduled from January 25 to Saturday, February 8 from 5-9 pm. We would ask for registration for this fun event by Monday, February 3, to have an accurate count of the attendees for the event. Remember to continue to check the weekly President's message and newsletter for important (and fun) upcoming events that includes our Law Day 2020 Gala on May 8. There are social events in the works that may include trivia night, a trip to Mackinaw Valley Vineyard and much more. Do not forget that the High School Mock Trials are set for Wednesday, February 12. Matthew Koetters mentioned to me that this event was filled with teams only hours after the registration opened this year! Our event is definitely a great experience for the teams! It includes not only real courtroom flavor, but invaluable feedback offered to the student participants by our current and retired judges and attorneys. It cannot be stressed enough that this event is not possible without your dedicated involvement. To that end, we need your help once again !! PLEASE REGISTER NOW in the link below. Volunteers will be provided breakfast and lunch and an opportunity for 1 hour CLE-Professional Responsibility for Mental Health & Substance Abuse. So I hope that you can join us for part or all of the day on February 12! Lastly, please renew your Bar membership today. See the link above for the ease of registration to renew. Once again, we implore your help to reach out to fellow colleagues and inform them of the great things happening in our Bar Association and how one might register. I appreciate your efforts. Have a great week! Joe Foley assistance neededOur office is looking for the Will of Milton O. Avery. We received an original from Dan Harrod’s office signed in 2006, but aren’t sure if there have been any codicils done after that. Ms. Doty - Legal Assistant - Black, Black & Brown.
