Keith Krieg

My brother, Keith Krieg, passed away unexpectedly last week. I am trying to locate his will. I cannot locate a hardcopy. I have called I think every probate lawyer listed with the McLean County Bar Association to see if the will is in their vault...with no success. He would have worked with a local attorney, probably based on a referral from the Employee Assistance Program at State Farm Insurance. The will would have been created in the last 4 years, prompted by the unexpected death of our younger brother. I know a will exists because we talked about it.

CLE

"Beyond Bias: Strategies for Inclusive Legal Leadership"
Tuesday, May 21 at noon
Second Presbyterian Church

Presented by
Juluia Roundtree Livingston
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Manager
Illinois Supreme Court Commission on Professionalism

[up to 1 hour PR Diversity CLE - Pending Approval]

This course explores how identifying bias and stereotypes can provide you with skills to be leaders in creating more inclusive legal workplaces.

Lawyers are leaders in society and the workplace. As leaders, lawyers must ensure they create a workplace environment that is both productive and inclusive. The way attorneys work has shifted. Technology, the hybrid workplace, the emergence of AI, and law firm growth rates are just a few ways that the legal profession has changed over the past few decades.

While these changes are significant, the legal profession cannot lose sight of the changing landscape of diversity and inclusion. Diversity and inclusion are important to ensure quality work as well as equity inherent in the rule of law.

Learning Objectives
  • Understand the state of diversity and why it matters in the legal profession.
  • Learn how to be an effective leader in a legal workplace that is more diverse.
  • Implement strategies to challenge bias and stereotypes.

It was an excellent presentation highlighting pitfalls for the unwary.

With ISBA insurance withdrawing their cybersecurity coverage, I will need to look into other insurance. This presentation assisted in learning areas of inquiry when looking for this kind of insurance.
