The 2010 McLean County Bar Association/Medical Society Golf & Tennis Outing is scheduled for Tuesday, August 17.  Tee times start at 12:30, with cocktails & hors d'oeuvres and dinner to follow.

: 
Attorneys with last names
A-M are required to report their compliance by July 31, 2010, either online or via mail.  Unless an exemption applies, the reporting period requires completion of 24 hours of MCLE credit from July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2010, for lawyers whose last names begin with A-M.  As a reminder if you are claiming credit for any of the Bar Association’s CLE luncheons or any other non-traditional credit activities (such as teaching or judging moot court), the MCLE Board requires a flat fee of $20 for all such non-traditional credit.  As a reference point the following luncheon programs were offered during this reporting period subject to the non-traditional credit rules under Rule 795(d)(3):

Central Illinois Paralegal Association Announcement

21st Annual Educational Seminar, Friday, September 10, 2010, Bloomington

The Central Illinois Paralegal Association's 21st Annual Educational Seminar is scheduled for Friday, September 10, 2010 in Bloomington at the Doubletree Hotel & Conference Center.  Illinois Supreme Court Justice Rita B. Garman is the Keynote Speaker. 

CLE credit will be available, including one hour of legal ethics.  Please see the attached form for more information.

Fall Social "Bar" BQ & The Blues! - September 18, 2010, 6:00 p.m., Sugar Grove Nature Center, Funk's Grove

The Bar continues its active social schedule with the Fall Social scheduled for September 18 at the Sugar Grove Nature Center at Funk's Grove.  The cost is $25 per person and includes dinner & drinks *(wine, beer & soda).  There will also be live Blues by the Chicago band Blue Plate Special.

MCBA is a valuable resource for both the legal profession as well as for members of the McLean County community. From continuing legal education and support services, to our lawyer referral services, we're dedicated to helping our members achieve their goals, and to promoting public awareness and keeping the legal system accessible to all. Members of the Bar recognize their responsibility to the community. Whether it is the Peoples Law School or the acceptance of referrals from Prairie State Legal Services, local attorneys are at the forefront of providing services to the general public.

With the growing legal community, the Bar is the central social and professional organization on the local level. It provides opportunities for local attorneys to network and connect with legal professionals. This permits a community of legal services that maintains the small town trust with the large town expertise.

The McLean County Bas Association is a not for profit Illinois Corporation with the tax return available for viewing at the office of Catherine Pratt, 415 north Center Street in Bloomington, Illinois. The corporate name is "Bar Association of McLean County."
